CS5 Features and Insider Gossip!
What Matters Most to ME?
For me it is all about Photoshop Content Aware (everything) and Puppet Warp.
Gossip 1: Johnny L=Hot
First, the gossip. If you've seen the launch, at http://cs5launch.adobe.com/?trackingid=FDXXQ you'll notice Johnny L is up after Shantanu the CEO. One of my friends at work has a total work crush on Johnny L. When he speaks just to the employees he's usually really funny, and I think that is why he's so well liked. In this video though he seems more formal than what we see inside at the smaller internal meetings. Anyhow, I'm glad they picked him to do the introducing.
Gossip 2: Adobe Employee Wolverine?
So yes, the employees here giggled when the customers started commenting that we hired Wolverine. I haven't heard if Jason has the sideburns still, but his energy is legendary. He won the demo contest at our last internal tech summit. I know lots of people were giving him a hard time about his chops, but man, I think he should grow a handlebar mustache for the next CS release to silence any critics.

Gossip 3: The response to Content Aware fill was high drama!
Some people are accusing Adobe of making it easy to steal photos on purpose. Others are saying Photoshop is trying to replace the need for good photographers? Well, they've been saying that forever, but there is no way to replace art. It's just a tool for the artists. It still needs to be used well. Anyhow, I think once people start to use it they will be amazed, but realize that you still have to start with a quality photo taken with talent and edited with skill.
This cracked me up! I like the humorous response to some people's fear over advances in Photoshop CS5.

I'm just starting to imagine what is possible with this feature, but I'm pretty excited to see it.
Anyhow, I'm blown away by CS5 and super proud to have worked on it. My name does appear in CS5 suites, but as I worked on the quality of the suites themselves and not a product. You can find me in the credits if you look hard enough. Pretty exciting stuff. I'm very proud to have worked on CS5 and I hope that my designer friends out there love it! The content aware feature in the Photoshop CS5 healing brush alone is addictive.
Oh, and one tester tip? Get more ram. You want the 4gb of Ram if you are getting a bigger suite because it is so worth the money for the performance you get when running multiple apps. The CS5 performance enhancements are really cool, but heed the hardware requirements. Also, one last thing, check out how cheap external hard drives are. I'm considering getting one to make my files more portable.

I am just amazed by the coincidence. It's really a small world...
Recently, my friend(a developer) attended Adobe Roadshow, here in Mumabi and was telling me all about it. She couldn't stop talking about the presenter Jason with the sideburns-'Wolverine' she said...was the funniest, most charming and ubelievably enthusiastic... and here I am, browsing through some really intereseting Testing blogs and coming across the very same Jason
